Miami Is Too Much For The Knicks In Game 2

Watching Game 2 the Knicks came out and did exactly what I expected them to do, play hard, smart, and bring effort, then disappear in the second half. Carmelo looked amazing ending the half with 19 points look like the best scorer in the league. Then the second half rolled around and the Heat clamped down on the defensive end, forcing the Knicks into bad shots at the bottom of the stop clock. Baron Davis did all he could looking very good running the show in third making big shots as well as distributing. The Knicks just did not look good in their transition defensive, giving the Heat wide open looks the entire night in the playoffs you just can't do that. The Heat showed people why many expect them to come out of the Eastern Conference, when the Big 3 comes to play they are a hard team to beat. I do believe the Knicks will win one at home, but that's about it. If they want to win Amare Stoudemire is going to have to show up in a big way, because through the first two games he has been missing in action.

What To Expect From The Heat Knicks Game 2 Tonight

Tonight in Miami it will be interesting to see will Carmelo and the New York Knicks come to play. The effort that was shown in Game 1 was pathetic to say the least. As I was watching the game I continued to ask myself did I become a prisoner of the moment like most sports fans in America? It was frustrating to watch as the Heat did whatever they wanted on the floor. I do believe the Knicks have the talent to push the Heat to seven games, and even potentially pull an upset which is highly unlikely, but as I watched Game 1 I really started to question myself. Carmelo Anthony, being the leader and face of the franchise can't mentally "Check out" of a playoff game. If you want to be considered a top five player, you have to show effort, effort is something that should never be questioned in the playoffs. The effort on the defensive end, was not the team I saw to conclude the season getting hot once Coach Woodson took over as head coach. I understand your missing Jeremy Lin, I do, but that still isn't a valuable excuse to lose by 33. Tonight the Knicks better come out and match the Heat that Miami will bring, because whether you like him or not Lebron is a different animal in the playoffs and it showed in Game 1.

Why The Knicks Can Be Dangerous

Mr favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference since the beginning of the year has been the Miami Heat. I'm not backing off of my pick, but if there is a team that can possibly scare the Heat it may come in the first round of the playoffs against the New York Knicks. Since Mike Woodson has taken over, the Knicks are 16-6 and finally are playing the way many thought they should be when the Big 3 of Carmelo, Stoudemire, and Chandler was established. I've always felt that Carmelo has been the best scorer in the NBA, despite what people say and he's been playing lights out. Need stats to prove it? Since the start of April Melo has been averaging 31 points and 7.4 rebounds, numbers don't lie. In the last matchup against the Heat Melo has showed that he can get his shot off on anybody often putting Battier on skates, as well as getting past Lebron. Believe me when I say nobody wants to see the Knicks in the playoffs. Woodson who is a defensive minded coach has the Knicks getting after it including his star player Melo. Shumpert has showed many why he is considered to be one of the best defenders in the NBA. With Chandler's presence in the middle, and Stoudemire bringing he usual double-double performance a night the Knicks can definitely scare the Heat, and maybe even pull the upset. If the Knicks are smart they will keep Woodson on board, because next year it definitely should be a three team race in the East with the Bulls, Heat and the emerging Knicks.

Why John Calipari Will Be The Winningest Coach In College Basketball

The doubters of Coach Calipari aren't going to be a big support when I say this, but when it's all said and done John Calipari will go down as the winningest coach in college basketball history.
Last night was just a preview of whats to come in this era of college basketball for many years to come. People dislike the fact that Calipari is winning because it isn't the traditional way with the one and dones, but this is where we are in this era of college basketball. Kids aren't trying to stay in school for four years when they can go play for a coach who can get them there in one, while winning at the same time.
The guy has been in six of the last seven Elite Eights, and you can make an argument that he should have three titles already. Despite the fact that the 2008 team led by Rose in company had their 38 wins at Memphis vacated, they still should have and would have beat Kansas if they could have made their free-throws. In 2010 with Wall, Cousins, and Bledsoe everyone in America knew who the best team was in the country was, they just happened to have a poor shooting night against West Virginia who had their best night of shooting night of the entire tournament. Then last year, they ran into a red hot UConn lead team in Kemba Walker, if they would have won their isn't a doubt in my mind that they would have destroyed Butler.
Then finally this year he was able to put it all together winning it all along with winning 38 games. You  can say what you want about the guy, but he wins games and kids want to play for him. Look at Roy Williams at Carolina great recruiter, but he isn't even close to the in game coach that Calipari is. In his three years at UK he is 102-14 with one national championship. Women may lie, but numbers don't lie.
