What to think of Duke's lost against Temple?

Yesterday the 3rd ranked Duke Blue Devils lost to Temple 78-73 in Philadelphia. I'm not going to go on a rant about how Duke is overrated, even though I think they are but, Duke struggles on the road in hostile environments against big guards. Do I think Duke is a top 5 team? No, but I do think they are a top 10-15 team only because of Coach K who will always has his team prepared to play. Austin Rivers, the highly touted freshmen who is the son of Boston Celtics Coach Doc Rivers, is the only Duke player who can create on his own shot gets out of control at times. Both Dawkins and Curry are streaky shorts the only time they are a sure bet to show up is when they're in Cameron Indoor. Where they will struggle is in the paint the Plumlee twins aren't any good in my opinion they are athletic and can block some shots but that's about it. I like Quinn Cook coming off the beach, he provides a spark as the only true point guard on the roster not taking shots at Tyler Thornton but the kid shouldn't even see the floor in my opinion. At the end of the day you never can overlook them, due to the simple fact they have shooters that can get hot at any moment during a game. With that being said, I see Duke possibly making the Sweet 16 the only way they get further than that is if they are making three pointers. You never know what team will show up when they take the floor, but that's why we watch the game to find out.

DeAnthony Thomas Or Sammy Watkins

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of DeAnthony Thomas and Sammy Watkins? Speed, speed, and more speed. Both clocked at 4.40 speed as well as being ranked 5-star prospects coming out of high school, according to Scout.com. Well there is one significant difference Thomas a RB and Watkins a WR, they play different positions, but both of these spectacular freshmen do have one thing in common they know how to find the end zone. Todd McShay, noted that NFL Scouts have contacted him saying he's a can't miss prospect with amazing hands even as a freshman. As for DeAnthony Thomas, the kid can do it all from coming out of the back field to returning kicks, he is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball ending the season with 18 touchdowns. At the next level Watkins will be drafted as a receiver, and the same will have to go for Thomas he wouldn't be able to handle the load of a four down back at 5-9 160 pounds. Since these two Heisman hopefuls will be in school for two more years, I think its safe to say that the two will continue to bring in jaw dropping highlights when Saturdays roll around. So, I leave you with this question who do want on your team DeAnthony Thomas Or Sammy Watkins?

Why Southern Cal Is BACK

With Matt Barkley returning Southern Cal will be a top 5 team going into years next season. Even with the lost of OT Matt Kalil the Trojans STILL will be a contender for a national title now that they are off there bowl band and let me tell you why. Southern Cal finished 10-2 without any motivation due to there bowl band, and they beat a very good team in Oregon in a prime time match-up in Eugene. They should have been 11-1, because they gave the game away to a very good team in Andrew Luck and the Stanford Cardinals. The Trojans will basically return the entire offense with the two superstars in Matt Barkley and Robert Woods which will be the best quarterback receiver tandem next season. With there two toughest games in Oregon and Notre Dame both at home in The Coliseum, look for the USC Trojans to make some noise in a the Pac-12. With a manageable schedule look for the Trojans to return back to the Rose Bowl, and with a chance to run the table don't overlook them for the Discover BCS National Championship Game.
